Ok. Running swiftly back to Tokyo coverage! As many of you know, I spent the last few days of my Tokyo trip miserably ill in the beginning throes of my bacterial infection. That said, I pulled it together on my last full day for a few hours since it was my 30th birthday and I had to go to a cat café, erm bucketlist!!
We jumped on a train to Shimokitazawa and to Caterium, which was selected thanks to some detailed internet research. We’d read a few accounts of the more popular ones drugging the cats – and most articles assuredly said Caterium was not one of these places.
It was such a bizarre experience. A relaxing daycare vibe filled with felines and what can only be described as professional feline fluffers. You could tell so many of these people were regulars. One guy, who was definitely the most pro, was fast asleep with cats buried amongst his person.
This cat was particularly hilarious, and apparently enjoyed a “firm pat” (yes, the cat liked a light spanking…)
I’m not 100% sure I’d go again. It was a strange experience and I didn’t really know what to do with myself. Emily loved it and thought it was extremely relaxing and would go again in a heartbeat, but I guess I’m about two cats short of a cat café at home, so I don’t really need pay to play with kitties….
Naturally I wore my Peter Som cat print dress, I do like a theme, and I paired it with my Primark fluffy cardi (Did you hear? They’re coming Stateside!), my Miista brogues and my Kate Spade donut purse. The cute “K” button was a birthday present from the girls, from a pop up in La Foret, Harajuku – it’s an actual “K” cookie preserved in resin.
Cho kawaii!
