It’s no big secret. BeyoncĂ© rules the world. It seems no matter your colour or creed or taste in music, whether indie bands rule your iTunes or you’ve a perma-playlist of punk on your Spotify, everyone can find a soft spot for Queen Bey.
This obviously includes Stylesmith HQ. Where, upon release, the secret album was played non-stop. Literally non-stop. So even if, like me, you attempted to stay above the Bey-fray, you had the songs battered into your sub-conscious so hard that you couldn’t help but like them.
The general rule of thumb with any band merchandise is that the official stuff nearly always sucks. Back in the day this resulted in DIY jobs. My favourite of which was my Ash t-shirt, which plainly read in iron on letters, “I AM THE GIRL FROM MARS” and lead to Tim Wheeler (the lead singer) touching my breasts whilst he told me how much he liked my t-shirt (I mean he ran his finger along the words which were on my breasts. I was 17. This was exciting. He also signed the back of it and told me he liked my tattoo. Come to think of it, I was clearly in there…)
Anyhow. Thanks to Etsy, DIY is a thing of the past and unofficial merchandise is plentiful. So, for your viewing pleasure, I rounded up a few of my faves.
P.S I woke up like this dis.
