Tomorrow I shall be refraining from blogging in solidarity with my fellow fashion bloggers and Japan. All coverage, especially the Los Angeles fashion week coverage that I know you're all anxiously awaiting, will resume on Sunday/Monday.
For those that follow me on Twitter, you will know the affect that this had on me in the immediate aftermath. Since then, I have gotten on with my life and my projects, and tried to revert to "business as normal" but I catch the news, read an article, see a picture and the epic devastation hits hard – but not nearly as hard as it must be for those living it right now but it's certainly a reality check.
Refinery 29 posted two great articles on ways in which you can help, through shopping and through donations. Tomorrow Forever 21 is donating all of their online proceeds to the relief efforts in Japan (something they seem to be refraining from promoting – so kudos on that – clearly not a marketing gimmick) and the 'For Japan with Love' movement of bloggers is encouraging bloggers to take a day of blogging silence and donate what you can to ShelterBox (more info available if you click through)
So I bid you adieu for a few days, and send love and hope to those affected by the disaster.
