Capsule is one of my favourite shows at Vegas – and that's not just thanks to the ice cream social that I'm enjoying in the picture above. The show always manages to curate established and up and coming brands in a seamless way that just exudes cool.
I joke with my friends that it's the "hipster show" and it is to a certain extent – but it's only for the über cool hipsters – the ones that create and drive the trends. The cool kids, that were never officially cool. That's Capsule. And that's where I belong (or at least wish I did)
Below are some of my favourite finds from the show, enjoy, I did, especially the stuffing of face with ice cream.

These fabulous shirts from Reyn Spooner take the Hawaiian shirt to an excessively fashion forward realm. They've been making these shirts since 1956 - the new cuts and colours give them a modern edge whilst retaining an element of 60's prep with the vintage prints. I love, and so does Mr. Style!
Hudson Shoes were gracing the US with their presence all the way from my homeland. These beautifully crafted "classic with a twist" shoes were absolutely charming. There are more than a few pairs I would love to adorn my feet some day soon. Plus it turns out their fabulous designer, Les, and I were at the same Paul Weller gig in 1996. Small world!
Beauty products were making a first time (at least in the years I've been in attendance) appearance and being a sucker for packaging these soaps and suds from Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella (yes, say that three times fast) had me snapping away.
The pharmacy that creates these wonderful products has been around since 1221 and was founded by Dominican Friars. So not just a pretty package.
These stunning bags from A.Toy are impeccably produced and there's no surprise as to why. Prior to launching his own collection Alexander Toy worked for Botkier and Gryson among other accessory designers. There are only 99 made of each design, making each purse truly limited edition and highly desirable.
So in love with the new frames 'The Bellow' from Contego Eyewear, a sunglasses company in their second season taking on the Toms 'buy one, give one' retail philanthropy model. For every frame purchased a pair of prescription glasses go to someone in need through their partnership with 'Restoring Vision'
One of the highlights of my Capsule visit had to F-Troupe shoes. Yay, another shoe designer from the UK! Apparently us British folk win at shoes (if my "shoe room" now housing over 100 pairs isn't evidence enough).
F-Troupe designs are classic in design and irreverent in spirit. Classic oxfords with bows and animal print, cat toed ballet flats (I need), denim mary-janes (I also need) and 'Bathing Shoes' – a vibrant, more practical take on the jelly shoe – are all fabulous examples of the wonderful work of designer, Mick Hoyle, who founded the line in 2003.
The shows in general this time around were a wonderful display of the creativity of the Commonwealth, with British and Australian brands really standing out (and I'll have more on that later) but the Sydny showroom was a fantastic example of great Australian design.
The whimsical designs of Arabella Ramsey (first four pictures) are completely my aesthetic, girly colours, a little bit of hardware, silky fabrics and a ton of ruffles. Perfect.
The textures and textiles of Flannel (fifth picture down) are properly sumptuous (yes I said properly sumptuous!) leather and silk and more ruffles it's no wonder Flannel has won textile awards!
Lastly we have Lilya. Maxi, dusky pink, mini pom poms and ruffles. Nuff said.
I first met the Sticks and Stones crew at the last Capsule show, and they're still doing awesome things. Whilst they still have their fabulous naturally shed antler jewelry and wooden collections they've gone a little pre-historic on us with fossilized mammoth and mastodon teeth – literally millions of years old.
Peasants and Travelers is another revisit from another show – but this time from Unique LA back in May, where they made my top ten list. They still have the gorgeous doctors bag I fell for back in May but how cute is this new herringbone print?! Especially in the laptop bag with the orange trim!
Can't wait till next season!
