I survived eight days in Las Vegas.
Just. I actually had an amazing time. The Stylesmith team headed out there for the Downtown Project/Stitch Factory speaker series and spent just under a week in Downtown Las Vegas making new friends and experiencing the community they are building down there (more on that later) then, three new tattoos later, we moved to the Strip to manage press and blogger appointments for our clients as well as cover the show for another.
“Tiffany’s” (inside White Cross Drugs, on Oakey at Las Vegas Blvd)
After eight days though, we were more than ready to get back to Los Angeles, but not before stopping at two of my favourite Las Vegas gems. The breakfast at Tiffany’s Café in White Cross Drugs (yes, “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”) is nothing fancy. It’s your standard breakfast – but it’s good, and if you know me, you know I love nothing more than an old breakfast joint – especially those with a counter, middle aged waitresses and old men grabbing their coffee and a slice of pie.
I literally seek these places out. Maybe I’ll write a book one day.
Across the street also on Oakey, tucked behind the gas station, is Luv-It Frozen Custard. It is the best thing to do in Vegas, hands down. Hugh Hefner agrees with me as does the woman from Henderson who had driven out to pick up her apparently weekly 16 quarts of the stuff.
It’s been in the same location since 1973 and they make their frozen custard daily. I’m partial to the Scotch Jimmie sundae as evidenced above. But it’s all good. So good.
Catch you later LV.
What I’m Wearing: Shorts: Victoria’s Secret (the best high waist cut off evah), Top: ASOS, Chucks, New Look Backpack via ASOS.
