tights or leggings. That way all I have to do to winterize my summer wardrobe
is add some fabulous winter accessories.
Speaking of winter accessories, I’ve spotted three chic
trends for legwear in winter lately: textured, patterned and colored tights,
leather or vinyl leggings, and long socks. I love these trends because they’re
so practical – not only is it a great way to extend your spring and summer
wardrobes but tights, leggings and socks will keep you warm and cozy too!
flattering than plain leggings – even though I do love my stretchy black
leggings! Lately I’ve been spotting what I call textured tights, or tights with
some cool pattern or texture embedded in them. A classy update on fishnets, the
best part about these tights is that they’re a great bargain. My favorite pair
is a chevron pair from Kohl’s
for only $10! I also love this boudoir pair from Forever21 for only $6.80. Rich, saturated
jewel tones (think emerald and cranberry) are also very in this winter, and Victoria’s Secret and American Apparel also have a great
selection of opaque colored tights which would look amazing with a black or
grey sweaterdress. Printed tights, like floral or heart prints are crazy hot right

Next up are those
awesome faux leather leggings I’ve seeing everywhere. I’ve been searching for
them because they look so warm! American Apparel has a great selection of
leggings and I love their shiny leggings that look like leather but are a much
more affordable $46. Nordstrom also has a crazy good deal for a
really cute pair priced at only $22! If you want to go all out (and if you
don’t mind animal products) then Alice + Olivia from Saks Fifth Avenue has a gorgeous two-sided real
leather pair for $330. These would all look great with black booties and a long
tunic.

My next favorite winter legwear trend is long, colorful
socks. Quirky without being too twee, this winter trend looks adorable with
oxfords or subtle but still super cute with striped socks just poking out of
tall boots. Hansel from
Basel has a great selection of knee high socks and I especially love the
pebble dot knee hi's and the spats! Sockdreams has the
best variety of socks I’ve ever seen, but I’m in love with their midcalve
section of socks, featuring ribbed, cuffed and argyle socks, starting at only
