Walking into the Penthouse Suite at Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles and being handed a Bellini (one of my favourite cocktails) by a ridiculously handsome English waiter is something I wish happened every Wednesday, but in reality this specific Wednesday was unexpectedly special.
I was invited to check out the LOFT Fall/Winter 2010/11 collection last week, and attended with a certain amount of ambivalence, having never been a LOFT shopper (having only been in the country four years is somewhat of an excuse) The event itself was outstanding. The view from Chateau Marmonts penthouse is impressive, but the view inside was equally so. Beautiful people, wall to wall, fabulous drinks, the yummiest of canapes (and waiters), stunning interior design, created specifically for the event, and some extremely lust worthy clothes.
The models lounged around the penthouse, reading books, chatting on the terrace, drinking at the dining table and resting in the bedroom, each were impeccably styled in head to toe LOFT.
I'm not one to ever wear (unless upon accident) any one brand or designer head to toe, but these looks were so effortless, pretty, preppy and so feminine that I could almost see myself recreating it. I was particularly fond of the striped looks – I love a little South of France, nautical inspired fashion fun, and working that into a Fall look is just fantastic (I say this as someone who owns more breton striped shirts that I can count) The over the knee boots were absolutely gorgeous, and are most definitely on my Fall/Winter hit list.
All together I was so very impressed and will definitely be adding LOFT to my shopping trips and for the record – no we weren't paid off with gift cards, but we did receive some lovely gift bags (a necklace and cuff that I cannot wait to wear!)
I bet you're dying to see what the beautiful and stylish (and me) wore to the event itself? Correct? wait no longer!
