Los Angeles Fashion Week – FGILA Designers and Their Muse

Picture

Last night the glamorous and talented convened at The Standard Downtown for Fashion Group International of Los Angeles 'Meet the Designers and their Muse' event.

FGILAmaggiebarrymorganne

Leanna Lewis (Beverly Hills Fashion Week Founder), Maggie Barry, Morganne, Barbara Graff (Beverly Hills Fashion Week Founder)

I unfortunately arrived a little late (it's a busy time) so by the time I got there there were so many fabulous people milling around it was hard to spot the designers and their muses between the stunning attendees. That said many really stood out I was particularly in awe of Maggie Barry's muse, singer, Morganne, stunning and utterly charming in our brief exchange waiting for drinks.

Oliver Tolentino & Muse

Oliver Tolentino was also a standout presenting a stunning young lady in an exquisite gown made unbelievably from pineapple fibers (pictured above) I cannot even begin to imagine the process and skill required to work with such a fabric.

FGILAmilahermanovski

Mila Hermanovski & Brandise Danesewich

FGILAJesusEstrada

Jesus Estrada & Muse

Honourable mentions go to the debonair Jesus Estrada and lovely Mila Hermanovski (her muse was so fantastically edgy, glam and gorgeous all at the same time – I believe it was Brandise from models of the runway but I may be mistaken EDIT! Brandise confirmed via twitter that it is her – @antimodel) both Project Runway Season 7 Alumni.

Fashionistas have to eat too!

It was lovely to catch up (again) with the lovely Los Angeles bloggers, it makes me sincerely happy I put together LAFW – Two Point Oh, now none of us will ever feel like we're going stag to a Los Angeles fashion event again! Additionally it was great to meet the stunning Sydne Summer who looked fantastic in Valentino (lucky duck) made me wish I'd gone for a more formal look.

All in all a lovely evening with some of Los Angeles finest, it feels good to be part of Los Angeles Fashion Week, it's as if it's the underdog, still in a process of evolution, getting better each season and I love being involved in that.

Kelsi Smith.
