Laurie sporting her new haircut
Me, Jen, Melanie
Last week I was invited by Caro Marketing to their semi-annual stylist event in which various designers and their representatives present their collections in an exclusive and well curated tradeshow style.
I attended with Jen from Red Sole Diary and we were both first timers, a little unsure of what to expect. Upon arrival (well just outside) we spotted Laurie (from Laurie B Style and Examiner.com) receiving what first appeared to be a spray tan….we checked in were assigned an assistant (a very good move) and dashed over to the mobile Bliss Spa set up for the event.
Laurie was receiving a complimentary oxygen blast (not a spray tan as first imagined!) and of course we had to experience it for ourselves!
The spray hydrates and refreshes the skin, it also kills bacteria, thankfully, as I had a nasty pimple from all my LAFW running around. My skin was dewy and glowing when it was over and it felt good too!

Additionally Bliss Spa were offering 'accent nails' from their new Minx Nails Manicures. We picked from a selection of designs and had one nail per hand applied. Minx nails offer a variety of designs on a 'sticker' with a polymer backing, the 'sticker is heated under a special lamp, bonded to the nail and filed to perfection.
I'm completely obsessed with this. I've never been one for nail art, I've always felt it was somewhat tacky, however this was far from it. Days later I found myself staring at my black and silver polkadot nails and exclaiming to my husband "it's just so cool!". Almost two weeks later the nails were still in place, until I just (right now in fact) peeled them off easily. The perfect alternative to nail polish for a fun look and lasts far longer than your average manicure. I cannot recommend this enough and cannot wait to go to Bliss Spa and get the full set (which FYI retails at $55, a very good price for a manicure that apparently lasts forever – ha!)

Harroin Salon were also on hand offering cuts and styling, whilst I didn't experience it myself, Laurie went ahead with a cut and the results were fabulous.

Aside from the pampering, which was very welcome, there were some fantastic mini showrooms to explore with some really impressive designs from many labels brand new to me.
Ashi Studio
The creations presented to us from Ashi Studio, created by
a designer from Saudi Arabia, were utterly breath taking and it came as no surprise that these beautiful garments have adorned royalty. The attention detail was incredible layers, ruffles, pleating and beautiful petal like paneling. Can you believe
this dress (bottom left) is made from burlap?! I'd die for just a tulle
petticoat from this designer let alone one of these phenomenal dresses.
Walter
Walter Baker began Walter in 1991 and surprisingly this was my first experience of his work. I was very impressed and have to say this booth was one of my favourite to visit. I fell in love with many items, the collection has a very feminine aesthetic but was modern and clean. Very wearable and very me.
This dress is part of a Spring/Summer diffusion collection with price points under $100. I need this dress!

A Beautiful Dress and Gorgeous Jacket (the detailing on the jacket was stunning)
Other Notable Labels
Some amazing pants from Plastic Island. This collection was very wearable with really unique, playful twists.
A stunning dress from McGinn (how 'me' is this?!) The lace and the tiny buttons! Squeal inducing!
A very pretty blouse from Bordeaux. Their line integrates shape-wear into the designs – genius!
Tulola – A line of jewelry handcrafted in Bali and named after the designer's daughter. The ring (second to the right) is amazing, so intricate and amazingly completely hand cast!
Designer Oday Shakar presented some very red carpet worthy dresses, so worthy in fact he won the Oscar Designer Challenge!
I am obsessed with these Zodiac USA boots..but which colour? The chic black patent? The very wearable taupe? The school girl in me is mostly drawn towards the shiny red patent, so fun!
A fantastic jumper from Paul and Joe, I'm excited for the opening of their store on Robertson.
Some lovely Seventies inspired purses from Hobo International, stay tuned for a giveaway coming soon!
I loved this collection from Heather. Beautiful detailing (look at the detail close up on that tank!), a stunning buttery soft leather jacket and this amazing vintage style bralette and tap panties made modern with colour blocking. I was particularly enamored with their affordable price point: $40- $120! Yes please!
All in all a great afternoon out, I felt privileged to attend, was treated very well (the food from Made by Meg was yummy!) and I cannot wait for next season!

I have been browsing on-line greater than 3 hours nowadays, but I never found any attention-grabbing article like yours. It’s beautiful price enough for me. In my opinion, if all webmasters and bloggers made just right content material as you did, the web will be a lot more helpful than ever before.|
