With past ‘My Favorite Things’ posts about rhubarb, baking
and now green tea, you probably think the writers of Dedicated are obsessed
with food! I am definitely guilty; I’m in love with green tea and some of the
awesome products with green tea as a main ingredient! Green tea is incredibly
diverse – it is now being found in everything from soap to lip balm to homemade
brittle.
Green tea is tasty and refreshing and it has tons of health
benefits, including lowering rates to heart disease and certain cancers. In
beauty products, producers add it for its healing and restorative properties;
some even say it helps with aging-related skin concerns! Making a simple face
mask with honey, oats and green tea is one of my favorite ways to rejuvenate my
skin.
Fashion wise, I took the challenge of finding green-tea like
clothing with a twist, and instead looked for truly “green” clothes – that is,
clothing made with sustainable products and organic materials. I recently took
the Ethical
Clothing Pledge which encourages its followers to buy more second hand and says
that if you do buy new, buy from a company that has good ethical policies in
place and one that uses environmentally friendly materials. I’ll definitely be saving up for some of
these gorgeous organic jeans and shirts!
