As it's coming up to the summer now, and we've started out "Get Summer Ready" series, I thought it would be a perfect time to showcase my favorite retro swimwear.
Retro swimwear is perfectly flattering on any body type. They suck and push in all the right places.
Any of you who have seen my posts, will know I have a fondness for vintage lingerie, and particularly for the UK based brand What Katie Did . They pride themselves on producing vintage inspired lingerie for the 1940s and 1950s, using genuine vintage patterns, altering them only to fit the modern woman.WKD produce some amazing retro swimwear, in amazing colours and patterns. Esther Williams have a fairly amazing collection of styles and fabrics, upon which you can choose. And Red or Dead having a couple of retro inspired swimsuits and bikinis in their swimwear collection.
The key to retro swimwear is bright colors, and details, that distract away from particular parts of your body, to give the illusion of an hourglass figure. I've picked out a handful of my favorite pieces, that I believe to be suitable for many body types.
Remember, if you go for a dip, reapply any sunscreen. You don't want to end up the same color as your swimsuit!
