Maybe it is because of the limited supply in existence, the pleasing amount of static when played, or the shiny black material itself, but there is just something special about old vinyl records.

Most children of the 80s remember admiring Mom and Dad’s massive collections or even stealing away to handle and play those curious circular disks. It is no wonder, then, that this retro-musical influence has spilled into today’s very cool fashion culture. Not only are records and turntables must-haves again, but castoff albums supply the perfect material to make jewelry, housewares, and other accessories. With this generation constantly seeing a resurgence of vintage items and a growing interest in the green lifestyle, records inspire old-meets-new creativity in daily dress and upcycled projects.

Obviously, accessories made from old vinyls are very unique, usually with a bit of a rocker edge. Cut-out jewelry (see 1 & 7 above) can be a little more subdued depending on the cut. But really, if you are going to wear an old record in any shape or form, be ready to stand out. Rock the look with confidence!
