'My Favourite Things' is a new series at Dedicated, kicked off last week by Sarah and her love for old records. Each week one of us will present one of our favourite things…a colour, an object, a certain style, and present to our lovely readers, objects inspired by our favourite thing.
This week I'm taking a look at rhubarb…rhubarb? Yes. Rhubarb. What you'll find background actors in theatres in London are actually mouthing to one another with looks of concern or joy to mimic convincing conversation…but it's oh so much more than that.
Is it a fruit? Is it a vegetable? Umm…it's a plant. Or a root vegetable. Apparently the sources can't decide. But what I can tell you is, throw this in a crumble or a jam (especially with strawberries!), and you have the most tarty deliciousness you've ever tasted.
Now if the tarty deliciousness doesn't pull you in, can we talk about the colour? Somewhere between red and pink lies the juicy beauty of rhubarb, rich and vibrant you cannot go wrong with this colour. Pick a shade from somewhere along it's graduated stem, you can wear it rich and deep (like these gorgeous ruffly shoes) or bright and shiny (like this girly dress!)
Either way eating rhubarb, wearing rhubarb (the colour lets not get too avant garde here) is the way to go….seriously I'm not even kidding. I love rhubarb.

rhubarb is a vegetable, since we eat the stem. (vegetables are stem, leaf, root; fruits are seeds or anything involving the reproductive parts post-flowering). I love this color, though…wonderful!
