On Sunday – I dressed like Barbie and headed off to Fashion Camp LA at the Co-Loft in Santa Monica. A day of seminars put together by Macala Lee Wright of Fashionably Marketing Me.

It was a stylish crowd made up of friends, old and new and fashion industry peeps from all over the spectrum. I'm not going to go into incredible detail here, that will come in the next few weeks as I break down each seminar (you saw what I learned and how I will utilise QR codes just yesterday) but I will say the subject matter was varied, from Augmented Reality to QR Codes to technological cloth to blogging to the legal aspects of the fashion industry. But like I said, more on that to come – this post is purely vacuous…

My darling Jen and myself (I might have to make it rule that people have to wear skycraper heels around me or I'm going to end up with a really bad back!)

What I Wore: Dress: Smoke and Mirrors (it's called the 'Mexican Carebear Dress' – pretty much sums it up), Shoes: Vintage (I actually happened across these in my own closet in a panic – score!), Purse: Target with a vintage tourist scarf attached (the purse was $2.50, the scarf is from my travles in Sicily: Priceless!)

I tied my Rome scarf onto a bag the same way you did and ended up losing it a few months ago. I knew it was a bad idea when I had to keep re-tightening it. I collect tourist scarves, but that was the only one I had actually purchased myself on location (the rest, so far, have been thrifted or gifts) and my favorite. Be careful! (Even though it does look adorable!)

Oh wow thanks for the advice Lola – that would suck…this seemed pretty secure – I didn’t have to keep tightening it, it’s cotton – so perhaps that’s why? But yeah I’d be gutted if I lost it – it moved to America with me – ha!
I’d love to “see” your scarf collection though – do you have pics?!

The one I lost was silk, which I think was the big problem! Cotton seems like it would stay on a whole lot tighter. I think in the future though I might safety pin my scarf to my bag. I’d rather a small pinhole in the scarf than no scarf at all!
Just @replied on twitter, but I will take some pictures soon!
