60 Years a Queen. This weekend is the celebration of the Queen of England's Diamond Jubilee, a fairly amazing feat for a fairly amazing lady. Despite my socialist inclinations, I'm a bit of a Queen fan. It's the secret traditionalist in me, I love the pomp and circumstance of the monarchy. Given that the whole of England was exploding with street parties and other celebrations, and I knew I'd be subjected to a plethora of Facebook pics from friends and family (not to mention it's my Dad's birthday!) I decided to have a piece of the action here in Los Angeles. Beat home sickness face on.
Brits in LA – a community of ex pats living in Los Angeles, were throwing a right old knees up at Palihouse in West Hollywood. Finger sandwiches, Pimms, scones, and a good old sing-a-long round the old Joanna (Piano) with Tom Lowe (who incidentally has a new show on the O Network launching next week called 'Real Life – The Musical')
Anyhoo, above is what I wore, some Hipstamatic snaps from the afternoon, and, as a special treat, what Mr Style wore (doing his bestest blogger pose – there were a lot of amusing outtakes as he made fun of me).
What I Wore: Dress: Topshop, Shoes: Courtesy of Sole Society, Purse: Courtesy of Fossil.
What Mr. Style Wore: Shirt: J.Crew, Pants: Gap, Shoes: PF Flyers, Courtesy of Zappos.
Happy Jubilee Queenie! AND more importantly….Happy Birthday to my Daddy, wish I could be there!!
