You know you hit the outfit jackpot when it makes the old ladies on the bus gossip…and today's was a winner. I've had a thing about pairing chucks with the "wrong" thing since I was a kid, there's nothing like a fancy dress topped off with chucks!
The second picture down (via Fashion Gone Rogue) prompted this "re-inspiration" but not owning any really fancy frocks (read spangly gown) I opted for this slightly more daytime appropriate H&M gown, paired it with my vintage belt, white Forever 21 shirt and my Danielle Nicole purse.
I felt fabulous, and it was just the right mood enhancing outfit to get my day up and running (I was pretty sick over night/early this morning…boo hoo, poor me) It also inspired the crazy old lady in me….I've always felt an empathy with Miss Havisham of Great Expectations..yeah she was nuts, but there's something amazingly evocative about a crazy old, but fabulously dressed woman….I absolutely want to be a crazy old lady.
The lovely ladies who joined me today on my day of fashion (first day of market in Los Angeles kiddos – more on that later!) are pictured above, the fab Alex Behrens of Ivory Inklings and the lovely Natalie Pitt of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Cute – check them out, they're quite wonderful!
