Thursday night saw the official launch party of The Fashion Frontline, I've briefly explained what this was in the past and I will in more detail on Monday when the competition actually launches, but, in a nutshell, we're eight bloggers competing against each other in five style challenges, each with it's own theme. The run up to the launch of the competition has been a lot of fun, the highlight of which was the launch party.
My entire outfit for the party (I was happy to announce to anyone who would listen) cost less than my manicure and pedicure combined (and my mani/pedi cost $30) I wore I vintage gown, a handmade headband and ring, Target sandals and a Primark purse.
Held at Seven Grand, one of my favourite bars in terms of decor (not so much in service…yep I was at the bar first Mr Bartender…and I'd been there ten minutes longer than the petite blonde…) All that aside Bren Lee Gomez of So Much Pretty, and the organiser of The Fashion Frontline, knows how to throw a party. With giftbags that would make Oscar nominees jealous (inc Revitalash, Natori Perfume, Leonor Greyl Haircare, Ardell Lashes, China Glaze, and Cargo make-up) and spiked cupcakes from the amazingly yummy 'Burlesque Bakery', Bren even managed to cater to the men in our lives, sending Mr. Style home with a bag full of ggodies (inc Skull Candy Earbuds and a variety of grooming products from Axe, Revitahair, and Tonic)
Bren also put together a fabulous raffle benefitting Leukemia Research (Bren is a leukemia survivor herself so this is a cause close to her heart) in which I actually won an amazing set of 12 polishes from Zoya, their complete Colour Block system and a $50 gift card to Recess Spa in Los Angeles. I certainly felt very lucky!
Lots of fun was had a-mingling with other fashionable attendees, Laurie, a fellow contendor and I were calling for a walk off, Zoolander style, but alas we settled for a fist fight….
Laurie & I on better terms (we're actually good friends – don't let the fight fool you!)
