Recently I was asked to try the new perfume by Nicole Miller, being a perfume fanatic I immediately obliged and a pretty gold box soon arrived in the mail and I began "testing" the perfume.
Everytime I'd put on the perfume I'd say to myself "now your testing this…THINK about what it smells like" and then I'd run out the door in a cloud of pretty scent and forget about it for the rest of day. Which lead me to my current conundrum. How in the world do you write about a perfume?!
I feel like something simple like – 'I like it!' is a cop-out. But I do like it. Which says something as I certainly don't like every perfume I come across. Some give me a migraine, some are just too plain sweet (vanilla? ack!) I love a floral but sometimes fear I'll smell 50 years older than I am, I love a musk, so much so I've been known to wear mens scents…but then I fear I'll smell like, well, a man.
Now this is what I can say about the perfume it's subtle, not overpowering, which is something I fully appreciate in a scent, it worked with my daily life and I didn't ever feel like the girl to stank of perfume – because however pretty the scent is that's never fun.
What I really liked was the balance that was struck between woodsy, musk and floral, my three favourite notes of perfume all in one scent. I found it evoked an exotic summer, something many scents attempt but often leave the wearer stinking like incense in college dorm. This is truly a perfume I can actually recommend, and coming from someone as fussy as me…that's saying something.
