Myself and Kristina of Pretty Shiny Sparkly
Myself and Kelly Agnew of The Zoe Report
When an invitation to an intimate dinner with Rent the Runway founder Jennifer Fleiss popped in my inbox a few weeks ago, I had assumed that the attention surrounding my Fashion's Night Out dress (it was a beauty!) had reached them, it wasn't till I arrived at the dinner that I found out that they had absolutely no clue I'd even rented a dress before and that I was just special (I kid, I kid)
The gathering was held at the fabulous Dominicks in LA, it was my first time there and I'll certainly be back, great atmosphere and great food and if it's good enough for Frank (Sinatra) then it's perfetto pour moi….
The guests were illustrious members of the LA fashion media, and as always it was lovely to put a face to the words with Melissa Magsaysay of the LA Times, Kelly Agnew of The Zoe Report, Abby Stern of Spoiled LA and some familiar faces, Erin Weinger of Style Section LA, Mary Hall of Recessionista and a very special guest, Kristina of Pretty Shiny Sparkly who was visiting from Houston!
We spent the dinner chatting away with one another and with Jennifer (RTR's co-founder) discussing Rent the Runway's future plans and our favourites from the Spring collections – did you know they listen to requests from customers? If there's something you want to see available for rental right off the runway – you can send in your request! (I'm compiling my list now..hee hee!)
Jennifer explained that Rent the Runway are starting a tour of college campus' across America to search for College 'Runway Reps'. Integrating Rent the Runway into colleges is a genius marketing strategy – especially given that 20 percent of RTR's customer base are college aged women, they're setting up a customer base for life! For more information on this you can email Brooke@RTRonCampus.com.
As you well know by now, I've had an overwhelmingly positive experience with Rent the Runway, and meeting Jennifer only confirmed for me that this a great company that I have every intention of working with in the future for all my many (!) events, which is made all the more easier with a lovely parting gift for each of us of a $100 giftcard for future rentals….just in time for Two Point Oh LA's Pre-Fashion Week party!
Thanks RTR!
Now I just need to decide which dress…! (I think Im leaning towards #1)
