Simply Stylist is one of my favourite parts of Los Angeles Fashion Week, stylists, press and other LA tastemakers gather in one space to meet with designers and reps of some of the best modern lines out there. This season's was no exception. In a gorgeous storefront on La Brea this room was filled with fashion and beauty and as much Barefoot Bubbly as one could drink…mmmm Mimosa's….
This gorgeous line of knitwear from Jia was so soft and so chic, and the best part was every piece is multi-functional. The pink coat-cardi on the left has a removable collar and cuffs (extra scarf anyone?!) and the gorgeous red cardigan is reversible – now if I can get a winter to go with them – I'd be set!
Agave Denim is born and raised in Southern California and made of wonderfully soft denim in a variety of colours, fits and washes, for both men and women. I was particularly enamoured with both the pink jeggings and the gray jeans.
Camille K is a stunning line of statement jewelry in which many of the pieces are one of a kind – made from vintage materials sourced from Parisian Flea markets, haberdashery's and couture houses. Each piece is rich with a history and the perfect amount of sparkle – to really make a statement.
Cyrcle is a new line of hand screened t-shirts from a group artists – the designs were unique, including skull, floral and geometric motifs – I picked up a fantastic raspberry oversized tee featuring the design pictured above and I have literally lived in it around the house – I look forward to dressing it up with some leggings and heels soon (by living in it – I really mean living in it – it needs a wash before public consumption!)
The Grammy Label – launching in Spring 2011 – for both men and women – was pleasantly surprising. Inspired by green room loungewear and festival wear, the line is laidback without being a velour tracksuit (ack!) soft cotton blouses and dresses with interesting quirks make this label fashion forward and definitely lust-worthy.
Alisa Michelle Designs was both gorgeous and inspiring, vintage pieces, stamps and coins make up this eclectic collection – each piece put together by hand. Alisa was on hand to enable each guest to make their own piece of jewelry from vintage stamped pieces and coins – I opted for a one penny coin from 1966 with the words 'Time is on your Side' stamped combined with a one cent coin stamped 'Blessed' – very appropriate for this time in my life and the choice of coins – one from the UK, and one the US made the choice all the more poignant.
Johnny Bechard, a New York based designer was present to showcase his jaw dropping dresses. A mouthwatering palette of sumptuous fabrics manipulated in swathes of pleats, gathers and ruching creating universally flattering dresses perfect for the red carpet…or you know…the Two Point Oh LA 'Snowball' hint hint ;)
I first discovered Lodis a few weeks back, as I found myself peering through the window of their closed showroom whilst pulling for the Two Point Oh LA lookbook shoot…beautiful purses, and if I was going to find myself cheating on Lena Erziak (hey it happens…I have poly-amorous relationships with handbags – even if my Valentino by Lena Erziak is my old faithful) it would be with this gorgeous ballerina clutch with hand appliqued ballerinas complete with tulle skirts – heart pitter-patteringly pretty.
What's their to say about Paul and Joe – time after time they're producing outstanding collections, feminine, flirty and quirky, my three must haves when I'm looking for clothes, and Paul and Joe tick every box everytime – this pink dress was my absolute fave.
Firstly – I'm going to explain the hair…I washed and went that morning, so it's not just the fuzzy picture – my hair really is that fuzzy…fortunately it provides a great before picture for the wonderful that was done by the Hairroin Salon who were on hand to not only smooth out my tresses but give my bangs a quick trim too! You can see the results in the top picture and the one below! Thanks ladies!
Anyhow, as for the gorgeous thing to right of me, that would be the lovely Leona Erziak of Lena Erziak…As many of you know I have the privilege of being the West Coast Brand Ambassador for Lena Erziak which allows me the thrill and the pleasure of carrying one of their stunning their purses most everywhere I go. I can't provide pics of the Spring Collection – as they're still awaiting their press debut – but don't worry they are glorious and all will be revealed soon. I certainly can't wait to get hands on a John or a Ray..there I go with that poly-amorous thing again!
Myself and my partner in crime for the day – Tiara Henry of Luxe Delux taking up the step and repeat with our sass and my now fixed hair..whoop.
What I wore: Nana Bijou Necklace, Victoria's Secret Top, Forever 21 Belt and Skirt, Vintage shoes and of course my darling Valentino from Lena Erziak.
Again thanks to everyone at Caro Marketing for making Simply Stylist such a treat, season after season.
