Spring/Summer 2010 Trend Report – The Kenyan Tourist

Thekenyantourist

I’ve often dreamed of traveling to Africa. Having been on
only two continents (North America and Europe), an African safari sounds
wonderfully exotic! But even if plans to visit Kenya aren’t in my immediate
future, I can still dress like a world traveler with this simple guide.

As a rule of thumb, stick to one animal print per outfit and
pair it with neutrals to keep it from being over the top. Keep your colors
organic and earthy – dried herb, khaki and warm tans and browns keep this look
grounded. This look, while still fun, is more sophisticated and exotic than
ironic and quirky.

You can be the sophisticate with the
beautiful asymmetrical dress pictured above with subtle shoes, or you can go all out with a
blouse, vest, cargo pants and these awesome Jeffrey Campbell Wedges! Either way
you’ll look like you’re just about to hop aboard a safari and go exploring in Kenya’s beautiful plains.

Have fun exploring a different side of your personality with
these different tourist looks. It’s not everyday that you can switch everything
up, so when you have the opportunity, grab it by the horns! Whether it’s St.
Tropez, Florida, or Kenya, have fun with it and try something you normally
wouldn’t. I know I’ll personally be stocking up on animal prints this spring to
pretend I’m on safari sunny in Kenya instead of snowy Michigan.
