My heart is beating like a jungle drum…

We all have an extra spring in our steps this time of year, so it is fitting that this week's style soundtrack be upbeat, catchy, and just downright fun!

Performed by Icelandic singer Emilíana Torrini, "Jungle Drum" is a song about being so much in love that your heart never settles down (in a good way, of course). With lyrics that reveal the quick pounding of her heart and a chorus with her vocals actually sounding like a drum, Torrini naturally makes you think of life in the jungle. And this just might pull you toward safari and tribal-inspired clothing and accessories.

In today's look, the jungle feel is conveyed through an animal print romper, safari-ish sandals, a cowboy hat, chunky beads, and a Polynesian ring. To pull in the feel of tribal gatherings deep in the heart of the jungle, this ensemble looks even better with some pops of color. So to top it all off, I included colorful eyeshadows and bangles that make an indirect reference to face paint and tribal costuming.
