You may remember last month when I introduced you all to my fearless baby sister who was diving headfirst into London Fashion Week. What a brave soul! Well, the reports of her escapades are ready – and I'm so excited to share, are you ready?
#JosieTakesLFW: Day One – by Josie Smith
Today is the day, the day I don the most fashionable outfits in my wardrobe and enjoy watching super slim beans strut their stuff down the catwalk in super hot new styles for Autumn/Winter.
Show One: London College of Fashion at the Royal Opera House
It was a lovely honour being fast tracked into this amazing venue that I had not had the pleasure of seeing before. Stunning, with the beautiful blue of London skies gleaming through the glass ceiling of the Royal Opera House. I wasn’t sure what to expect but I can safely say I was blown away by the exceptional collections from the talented graduates of London College of Fashion.
The collections captured most of my favourite colours and gave Autumn/Winter a very optimistic outlook for those cold and grey days!
The detailing in the outfits above captured the eye very well and I admired the design and also quality of the material. Loved the shoe combinations too!
My favourite design of this incredible show had to be the floral prints. I love flowers and love nothing more than putting on a pretty dress and being a girl, so it was no surprise that I fell in love with this collection. The colours were so beautiful and blended perfectly. An outfit I would proudly wear for I found it so uniquely splendid with it’s feminine shape and floatiness.
Last but not least, another great outfit. This time so simple but yet so classic looking with a great colour palette. Another outfit I would wear and can’t wait to see in the Autumn.
London College of Fashion was way above exciting and was mesmerized by the talent and quality of design. It was also very exciting to also see in the front row, Liane Le Havas, an awesome singer who I had the pleasure of meeting at Ronnie Scott’s the following week. Liane graced the stage in all her amazingness after I had performed and after her performance we discussed how stunned we were by the work of London College of Fashion.
Show Two – Fyodor Golan
An hour later I found myself in the Savoy Ballroom. With a stunning venue like this one could assume that this fashion show would be a great spectacle.
I was right. Designers Fyodor Podgorny and Golan Frydman had put together a fine display that definitely had the audience wowed. A stunning collection of statement dresses and outfits. The shapes were very unique along with the attention to detail with the patterns and construction.
This picture captures so well the detail that had gone into these designs. A beautiful and well thought out dress. Love the colour!
The cameras started going mad when this work of art entered the show. The colours here are again eye capturing and work so well with the silhouette of the dress. I love the stong corset contrasting with the soft bottom half. Such an interesting and delightful outfit.
What I love most about these designers is that they believe that ‘Music makes fashion alive.’ As a musician myself I very much agree!
Show Three: Felder Felder
After having eaten lunch in the nearby cafe and discussed these designers with Milly from ‘Made in Chelsea’ it was fair to say I was excited about seeing Felder Felder.
Most definitely living up to their signatures…"modern, sexy, cool" the German twins put on an amazing show. I was in love with every piece and was very inspired by the styling.
The sleekness of this outfit was achieved simply by an awesome red knit jumper, sexy leggings teamed with this gorgeous hat that I wanted to jump onto the run way and take off her head, so cute! The next day I was the first person into a hat shop!
It’s been quite hard to whittle the photos down from this collection. I couldn’t stop staring at all of it!
As well as being my new inspiring diet photo it is also my ‘I would like to save up for this dress’ photo too.
Such a flattering and stunning dress. I love how Felder Felder have made this black dress stand out with the unique cut and drape. Classy, chic and super sexy!
Stay tuned for more #JosieTakesLFW – including Orla Keily and Fam Irvol! To follow more of Josie's shenanigans – and even catch one of her gigs – follow her on Twitter and Instagram and "Like" her on Facebook!
