Mr. Style disapproved of shorts. Or at least he did. He claimed short men could not wear shorts – he also felt men just don't look good in shorts – but it's a lie! A quick purchase from Forever 21 and a a little persuasion from me had him wearing this dapper pair of shorts this weekend. And doesn't he look just wonderful? As his wife I'm completely bias, but there are rules to abide by that can have every man looking good in shorts.
Basically, there's a 'no go zone' for wearing shorts – that is if you're not a go go dancer and you're not a skate boarder. If you want to look suave in shorts – you need to follow the following rules. Shorts should sit at the knee or just above it, if you're feeling brave you can go shorter…but how short? Stand up and place your arms at your sides, if your shorts come higher than your fingertips you belong in a Euro Pop Club circa 1989 and not in public circa 2010.
I prefer this look kept smart with a tucked in button down, as modeled by Mr. Style. Converse is Mr. Style's 'go to ' footwear (as a strict vegetarian he does not wear leather – from belts to shoes) but you could also try this look with Oxfords. Go sockless or wear a smart pair of thin ankle socks (if you're feeling particularly trendy try a strong colour – like red for a great 'pop')
What He's Wearing: Short Sleeved White Button Down Shirt – $12 – H&M, Shorts – $22.95 – Forever 21, Brown Converse Chucks.
