I've been promising to fill you in on this bit of news for awhile now, but now I can finally share all the juicy details! On July 17th 2010, the first official organisation for Los Angeles fashion, style and beauty bloggers will launch with our 1st Annual Picnic!

Back in March, if you remember, I threw a pre-fashion week party for bloggers in Los Angeles. As a result of the success of the party and the relationships that were formed, I decided that maintaining the unity and nurturing the community would be integral for the future of Los Angeles fashion and the blogging community at large.

I have often felt blogging could be an isolating task, working alone with a computer the vast majority of the time with little 'in person' interaction with other bloggers. Whilst working events, such as fashion week, bloggers would often find themselves working as a 'one man band' without the entourage of photographers, videographers and so forth, that larger publications work with. Whilst blogging networks do exist, most notably, Independent Fashion Bloggers, there was nothing to support Los Angeles bloggers on a local level.

With the launch of Two Point Oh LA, I am hoping to educate, inform, promote and entertain the membership base, through a web based platform and through monthly events, to include workshops, promotions and networked gatherings. Each member, for an annual fee of $25, will receive their own profile on the site and invitations to the monthly events.

July 17th's First Annual picnic in Griffith Park will serve as a launch party for the organisation, introducing members, and encouraging new memberships.

I am so excited for our launch, it's taken a good few months to set up – and these last two weeks are going to be insane – but a good insane! The website will launch in a few weeks but in the meantime you can follow our antics on Twitter right here.
