Spring/Summer 2010 Trend Report: Menswear

Menswear on the Runway!

Runway Highlights: Top – Ralph Lauren, Marios Schwab, Paul Smith, Anna Sui; Bottom – Junya Watanabe, D&G, DKNY, Dolce & Gabbana

Who does not love a good pinstripe pant or boyfriend style blazer? Runway designers certainly loved these menswear fashions in their spring collections. Paul Smith and Ralph Lauren especially proved that menswear is worth wearing through smart suits, cute waistcoats, and careful accessorization. Beyond the typical suit with a blazer and trousers, there seemed to be a resurgence of brogue shoes, tasseled loafers, and neck or bow ties on the runway. Many designers also brought new attention to the waistcoat or fitted vest, which was presented as part of an entire suit or as the top piece.

Stores are still filling up on menswear-inspired styles, but keep this trend on your radar and snag a bright boyfriend blazer or unique pair of loafers now!

Love the ASOS Blazer, but $300?! YIKES! Hopefully I can find something similar to it in my price range.

Do you have a Cotton On near you Nicole? I saw one similar today, same colour & style in a heavy jersey. There’s a store in Glendale & it was only $35.
