Adolfo Sanchez showed his Spring/Summer collection alongside works of art at the Hold Up Gallery in Little Tokyo. White highly stylized mannequins were adorned with his latest designs ranging from daywear to formal gowns.
It must be said Adolfo Sanchez designs clothes for women, I hate using the term "real women" as lets face it, we're all "real" women whatever shape or size, so let's say Adolfo Sanchez designs clothes for what everyone means when they say, "real" women…curves, complete with butt, thighs and boobs.
The cuts are flattering and elegant, and whilst the collective wasn't completely cohesive (from bleached denim to gold draping) it was wearable and desirable.
I particularly liked the black draped dress, fourth picture down – a great silhouette for day or night, with interesting detailing, and thought the gold dress, second picture down, was incredibly wearable and flattering. I wasn't so keen on the white gown, clearly the dress was beautifully designed and well executed, it was just severely let down by the choice of fabric.
