A few weeks ago I spent a wonderful rainy evening in Chinatown – listening to the dulcet tones of Jessica Fichot, supping organic wine and perusing the latest collections at Chemline.
There's something I love about Los Angeles in the rain and Chinatown with it's vintage signage and pretty lanterns just adds to the magic – throw in some French jazz and it's practically other worldly (for the record I hate it when people talk about Los Angeles feeling like any other city in the world – it's Los Angeles that's what makes it special!)
We weren't there to enjoy the magic of Chinatown in the rain but the magic of Chemline's Holiday Collection – which was pretty stunning on it's lonesome. Averi Bell, Chemline's designer has created a holiday collection that is sophisticated and modern – with vintage sensibilities. Gorgeous emerald greens and slate grays are abundant, adding to the modern film noir vibe amplified by the Chinatown location.
The fact that the collection is sustainable seems entirely incidental – the aesthetic is not driven by the eco fabrics – but instead they lend themselves naturally to the collection. As is the way with all the designers featured alongside Chemline in the boutique.
Below are some of my favourite snaps from the evening.
