First, I would like to point out that this years Oscars were the best that I have seen in a long time! High Fives to the Academy and Oscar crew who worked hard to bring us this years show!
The red carpet was buzzing with glamor and beauty! I loved the low side swept loose bun worn on many a leading lady.
Penelope Cruz looked stunning, how did she achieve the look?
Blown out hair, pulled back lightly into a ponytail, wrap hair around pony tail base and fasten with an anchor pin. YES, its that simple.
apply a cream foundation all over, blot on some concealer under the eyes and on any blemishes. dot on a cream blush with a pink hue. keep your eyelids simple, brush on a copper or light brown from your lash line to your crease, followed by a sheer highlighter to your brow bone. with Black gel eyeliner and liner brush, sweep a thin line above your lash line from your inner eye to outer eye. with the same liner brush, line the inside or you eye lid top AND bottom. Scared of false lashes? it's okay! swipe on FOUR coast of a thickening mascara (my favorite is Bad Gal Lash from Benefit cosmetics). Fill in your brows with a gel based brow pencil and set with a coat of clear mascara. Pat some concealer on your lips followed with a pink or peach toned lip gloss…
Now you are ready to rock Penelope's Award winning glow!
Another winner Kate Winslet also won my affection! not only does she always look polished but her gracious attitude adds emphasis her jaw dropping beauty!
follow the above steps to achieve this look, only switch the brown or copper eyeshadow with a light pink or peach, and skip lining the bottom part of your lid. For extra drama, add a bit of sparkle to your eyes by applying a loose white shimmer shadow to the inner corners of you eyes!
Who did NOT win my attention…sadly Sophia Loren…to put it bluntly…just don't recreate this look ever!
side note: I would like to acknowledge a Make up team who SHOULD have been nominated this evening
Linda Melazzo Gabriele Kent-Horspool Matthew Smith Pauline Fowler and team for The Reader, the age make up done in this film took my breath away and should be awarded!
Congrats to all the nominees and winners this evening!
Have more questions on your favorite star of the evening…just ask and I will answer!
