I first met designer Natasha Gindin at Unique LA's Spring show, I had spotted her milling around the room looking impeccable in a nautical inspired outfit – and when I found her – to take her photograph – I found she wasn't just a well dressed lady, but the designer of her outfit too, the designer of Lavuk.
A fortnight ago we met downtown to view her Fall Collection up close and personal in her showroom. Really up close and personal is the best way to view the Lavuk collection. The attention to detail is astounding, and whilst I want to say Natasha makes 'basic's' the word does not do the design justice.
The seaming and cuts of the garments are beautiful. Ruffles, texture, the rich palette and interesting seams all add to the aesthetic – this is American Apparel grown up, gone luxe, wearable and chic.
Best of all the entire collection is made in Los Angeles and is eco-friendly, made with organic and sustainable fabrics.
Visit the website and see how the collection looks on a model – but better yet, buy yourself a piece and see the quality and gorgeousness up close and personal yourself. E-commerce is coming soon but in the meantime Lavuk is available at select retailers across the country (see the list here)
