As you know by now I spent this weekend wearing my Stylesmith hat at Unique LA. Above is a little round up of pictures from my own little booth. The new collection was very popular, but surprisingly enough the most popular collection was the Bridal collection. Were there a flurry of brides at the show this weekend? Nope. I didn't sell a single piece to a single bride! It turns out LA girls like sparkly white things!
I did get a chance to run around around the show briefly and these were my favourite fashion finds!
TMinx
My booth neighbour for the show was the fabulous TMinx, fairly new on the LA indie business scene, she designs and sells amazing t-shirts for women.
Yvonne bases her illustrations on vintage sewing patterns adding colourful geometric shapes to the background. I ended up buying two myself, a fabulous cropped tee (see the Unique LA Pavement Princess article a few posts down) and the vest pictured below. We will be doing a giveaway in the next few weeks featuring the cropped tee also pictured below.
Les Morceaux
Les Morceaux, a fabulous Los Angeles based jewelry designer creates jewelry that seamlessly merges the industrial with the organic to produce pieces that exude a certain simplicity, despite intricate and interesting details. I was particularly enamoured with the braided fabric and chain necklaces (that can also be worn as wrapped bracelets)
You can purchase Les Morceaux here.
Knickerocker
My dear friend Nic (and fellow Brit!) makes fabulous handmade lingerie. Super girly and sweetly sexy her underwear is perfection! We first met last year at the Unique LA Holiday show, and have since bonded over our Britishness and passion for girly things…ha! I recently shot the lookbook for Knickerocker which I shall be previewing here soon!
Nimo
Nimo is a line of handcrafted jewelry from Naomi Plange, a German born artist now based in Pasadena. I love the contrasting materials and rawness of the metals and I complete adore the 'lalaland' necklace, because we know it's true, but we love it anyway.
LAVUK
LAVUK is an eco-friendly line of clothing designed and produced in Los Angeles. I actually spotted the lovely designer Natasha (pictured in our Unique LA Pavement Princess article a few posts down) wandering around the show on the first day wearing this outfit pictured above and immediately fell in love. I'm sincerely looking forward to seeing more from this gorgeous line in the future.
LAVUK is available in the stores listed here.
