So this is probably the bravest thing I've ever done in the blogosphere, a fitness video…from me, little miss unfit. But that's what makes it kind of awesome I guess, a fairly average woman huffing, puffing and flapping all for your viewing pleasure.
I met with the amazing Kristen Barlock of Skinny Babe Bootcamp, a 'meet-up' based bootcamp run exclusively for women by one amazing woman in Marina Del Rey. She devised, especially for our readers, a quick and (somewhat) easy workout that can be done in only ten minutes. Perfect for the everyday power woman who can't even take a minute to play Wii Tennis…yes I'm talking about me.
The amazing thing about this workout is that it is actually a workout, when you're done, you feel, well, done. For the next couple of days I felt it's effects (albeit I did it more than once for filming purposes) and now that I'm back from New York and that I've actually edited the video it's going to be part of my everyday routine so that I too can shed some pounds for the beaches of Southern California.
So enjoy this little series (it's in three parts – two exercise videos and a delightful interview with Kristen herself) I do have to apologise for the sound quality, it's been a long time since college and I'm back on the filming and editing learning curve (it's not like riding a bike – as I'd hoped!), just know that hours were spent improving the sound quality and that I don't recommend working with wind, aeroplanes and large families that choose to picnic directly behind what you're filming, in an otherwise empty park (sigh!)
