Almost every little girl has wanted to be a mermaid at one point or another. Known for their beautiful long hair and ocean home, these fairy tale characters are among those you hope to see for real. Whether it is Ariel from The Little Mermaid or Madison from Splash, there is just something lovely and mysterious about mermaids.
For Halloween this year, I am looking forward to finally dressing as a mermaid. Considering how many times I watched The Little Mermaid or pretended I had fins when I was young, it is amazing that this will be my first mermaid costume! So excited!
As I get my costume together, check out what gets me "Under the Sea." :)

P.S. For makeup, I found several tutorials, but this one was my favorite:

Or you can find a sparkly aqua 80s prom dress and silver shoes from goodwill as well as some shell necklaces and be all set!

That’s true Bridget…but then we can’t make a pretty photo collage OR promote some lovely handmade items ; )

Mermaid is like the ultimate costuming challenge, and I’m absolutely nuts about your solution! You’re going to look great. I can’t wait to see pictures (you just let me know if my hints are too subtle).

Yes, one of my friends did that one year, and it was very lovely! :)

Thanks so much! I was really pleased with all the items I found. I probably won’t use all my selections, but my costume should be fabulous! :)
