My holiday is over, it was short lived but a wonderful break…and we finished it off in the splendour that is Malibu. There's something about Malibu that instantaneously sends chilled vibes through my core upon arrival.
We picked up lunch at the Country Mart, one of the bizarrest places on earth…high end fashion housed in huts, I love it. I had a little looked at Perricone's new skin collection "Super" (the packaging is to die for) and ran into Ron Herman to see what Topshop goodies they had available (answer: a gorgeous cream dress with daisy lace that was not available in my size…) Lunch was from John's Garden – one the best, quickest and cheapest lunches in Malibu.
We hopped back in the car and headed to El Matador, my favourite beach in Southern California – you've seen it on here before, even if you haven't realised, it's my favourite place to shoot my editorials which you can find here.
El Matador is north of Zuma Beach and can only be accessed by a cliff walk and some steep stairs, but it's totally worth it. The view on the way down is gorgeous and once you get down, it's never busy and it has these amazing rocks and caves.
This isn't an outift I'd ususally bother photographing for the site, but we had so much fun taking silly pics that it seemed a shame not to. Plus I LOVE these pants – I've lived in them since I got them. Isn't this outfit totally 80's preppy?
Sunglasses: Vintage Raybans (from my Mum!), Stripe tee: H&M, Pants: Victoria's Secret. I also wore my white eyelet Keds:
Me and my man (Mr Style) being goofy…we totally matched that day…sad isn't it?
After we found ourselves sufficiently beach rested we headed into the Santa Monica Mountains to Malibu Wines. I'd never been before and now I'm already planning my next visit. It was amazing. A wine tasting starts $10 a flight and they have their own label: Semler, which was particularly yummy.
The ground were beautiful and everything is outdoors, vintage cars and trucks, barrels for tables, an airstream, bunnies running around and the smell of manure. It was perfect, even the manure (which apparently is not a permanent fixture – they just laid new grass)
I literally cannot wait to go again…who's in? (I'm deadly serious!)
