Since starting a new job as a FIDM instructor, and taking lots of, very important, business meetings in my latest role as Director of the Los Angeles Fashion Council, I've felt it time to amp up the sophistication in my wardrobe.

Whilst I happily continue to dress like either a 12 year or a Granny on my "normal days" I have found being sartorially "businessy" quite fun. Of course given my personal style and adding an element of adult, there is tons of potential to come off as excessively frumpy – so there's been a lot a balance striking – adding a funky shoe, chunky jewelry, mixing colours and prints – have all helped to keep me on the side of chic.

Anyhoo, I will attempt to continue to document these outfits under the meme #workwhimsy, it is more challenging than your standard Pavement Princess given a day that calls for #workwhimsy generally call for lots of work and no time to photograph… but alas, I'll try.
