Maybe I was scarred because of some very unfortunate, shapeless, and usually-embroidered denim dresses back in the 90s because any dress in jean has been on my bad side for years. When I noticed a fresh take in denim dresses coming back this last year or so, I initially decided that you would still never see me in one. But more and more dresses have been hitting stores, and they continually hit the mark for being chic and anything but shapeless. So, thank you creative designers for proving denim's worth and potential for more than my go-to skinnies and occasional wide-leg jeans. I have been won over!
Denim dresses done right are fitted, sometimes printed, and never without some sort of awesome detail. Ruffled skirts, puffed sleeves, and angled seams will get you excited about a jean dress. And if you are going for a lighter look, there is always chambray!
