Ibiza is a fascinating little island, one that I've not visited, mostly due to growing up surrounded by European club culture and being, for the most part, really repelled by it. It has however fascinated me, the island has a unique blend of bohemian beach culture and European rave culture united only by the hedonistic tendencies of both sub-cultures.

This is certainly reflected in the styles on the island, by day the party-goers swarm the beach for forty-winks & a sun tan or wander the markets in bohemian garb and by night the clothes are tight, short and exhibitionist in nature.

On the catwalks this Spring/Summer season, that hybrid of free love and rave culture fashion was apparent. Proenza Schouler, for example, sent neon, deconstructed tie dye fabrics in appealing and feminine silhouettes down the runway. Seemingly inspired by surfwear and perfect for Ibiza dressing.

Mix up the prints, with each other for a bold look, or take it down a notch and mix with solid neon colours or even black for a more sophisticated look. If you can't or won't pull off the print, use solid neon by itself or as an accent colour or look for tie dye details in accessories such as the headband or shoes pictured above.

Keep the silhouette feminine, and light so as to not come off too severe, figure hugging is fine so long as it's a lighter fabric or colour, it is a summer look after all! But have fun with it…and if you are off to Ibiza…curiousity has gotten the better of me..can I stowaway?
